My modules and my expectation form this module

After 2 years of vacation I am studying 1^st semester in Islington College which consists of 4 modules (Problem solving, Logic, Study skills and Introduction to programming)

Problem solving is the module in which we get chance to solve different problem in logical way which is very important for IT students. This module contains Algorithm and Flowchart which is step by step process of solving the problem. IT professional must have good problem solving capability, so, I am hoping to be a good problem solver with the help this module.

Logic deals with all the mathematical calculation which is essential for programming. In this module we are studying Boolean algebra, set, function etc which will be helping me for programming for my future. Logic is very important for every part of programming without which we cannot design good softwares.

Giving presentation, group work, report writing and blog writing are main parts of study skills. Now days every IT person should have good presentation skills, so, from this module, I am expecting to decrease my fear of speaking in front of mass. Group work is very much important in our field, so, from this module, it will build up confidence working in group.

For every IT students, programming is very important. Introduction to programming deals with this. In this module, we are learning java which is one of strongest programming language. I hope at end of semester I would be able to create a small program using java.

These are the modules which I am currently studying in Islington College which will hopefully be helpful in my future. This is it for this blog.

Self Assessment

        I have always been one of the high achiever in my high school and I have tried to learn something better for my up comings. I won couple of trophies, competitions during my school. So, I am capable of achieving higher goals in my future. 
      

During my school days and also in my high school, I took computer science as  one of my  major subjects which helped me to learn some of the basic concepts about the technologies used now days. Also since I  have a strong base in mathematics  I am able to solve many logical questions easily. As  logics are one of the essential components for solving different problems in computing.I think having  good knowledge in mathematics will help me better to tackle my problems related to computing. I also joined APTECH for my further programming which was really a good experience for me for  upgrading my programming concepts.

                        I was a school captain and also a house captain in my school days which helped me  develop good leadership qualities and a lot of self confidence.

            Despite my achievements till now, I still have to make a lot of improvements in my 3 years of College. In today’s context, Java programming is one of the strongest languages used in programming,so I want to learn every aspect of Java as possible.During my study, I want to tackle many problems which will help to solve many problems in real case scenarios. Even though I have  good public skills, I tend to get nervous sometimes to express my feelings, so I hope to increase my presentation skills in my stay here. I Even  want to learn more about mobile application and website development.

            So despite of all my achievements till now , I hope to learn  new good qualities  which will help to to become a responsible programmer in the future.

                  

           

        

about myself

     People who have known me have always defined me as an obedient, hardworking and fun loving person. They usually compare me with the person who always smiles and make others smile .That’s what Yogesh Shrestha is all about. I was born in architectural and cultural heaven of Nepal: Bhaktapur.  Singing, playing guitar and exploring new things are my hobbies. Telling some more about me I would like to introduce myself as adventure loving person. Rafting, wall climbing and bungee jumping are some of adventurous things I have done.

       About my qualification, I passed my S.L.C from Mount Sinai English Boarding School and completed +2 from Himalayan White House International College.  currently I am  freshmen in Islington College.

    I have been curious about computer since my childhood.  So, I took computer subject  in my school and  even  in +2 I got enrolled in physical group. Since  my childhood, I have wanted to study computer but was in confusion what to choose as topic in Bachelor level. When I asked  my brothers they advised me to choose computing. They told that it’s the subject which has the most job scopes in the world.  Islington College is the only college which offers this subject and is affiliated to London Metropolitan University which is one of the largest university in London  and the university which have maximum number of students around the world. Islington provides British honorable degree which is one of things that attracts Nepalese student. Also this college teaching methods are totally different from rest of the colleges and universities. All the teaching staff are so friendly that’s what I wanted from my childhood. “Study hard, party harder” is the main motto of this college which attracts me joining this college.
